James J. Bonsignore is a Principal with Fix Spindelman Brovitz & Goldman. Mr. Bonsignore holds a Master's Degree in Environmental Law in addition to his Juris Doctor. Mr. Bonsignore's expertise lies in the specific areas of real estate development and land use as well as environmental law, including the preparation of planning and zoning applications, management of environmental quality review, representation of clients before municipal boards and commissions, and handling of administrative appeals. Mr. Bonsignore regularly represents both local and national clients in these areas of practice throughout the greater Rochester area.

Mr. Bonsignore also has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate transactions, having represented clients throughout his career in residential and commercial purchase, sale, and lending transactions. Most recently Mr. Bonsignore has been active in commercial lease negotiation, representing commercial property owners in negotiating lease agreements with multiple national retailers. He is also a signatory title insurance agent for multiple title insurance agencies and is well practiced in examining and finalizing real estate title.

Prior to joining Fix Spindelman Brovitz & Goldman, Mr. Bonsignore's Connecticut practice spanned several years each with Ebersol & McCormick, LLC in Torrington, Connecticut and with the Law Office of Franklin G. Pilicy, P.C. in Watertown, Connecticut. In his Connecticut practice, Mr. Bonsignore served as an assistant to the Watertown Town Attorney and successfully argued before the Connecticut Appellate Court. He was also the first attorney in Connecticut to argue a case of first impression (regarding the legislative interpretation of recent statutory changes concerning the removal of fiduciaries) and prevail on the merits.

Mr. Bonsignore is currently licensed in both New York and Connecticut. A native of Rochester, New York, Mr. Bonsignore returned to the area to join Fix Spindelman Brovitz & Goldman. In addition to his work with the firm, Mr. Bonsignore is an avid fiction writer and is active in animal rescue having recently adopted a 14 year old boxer, ironically named Justice.
