Steven A. Lucia is a Principal with Fix Spindelman Brovitz & Goldman, practicing extensively in the areas of commercial and business litigation, aviation litigation and personal injury.
In his commercial and business litigation practice, Mr. Lucia has successfully represented a software development company in a case involving the alleged breach of a software license and development agreement for the design and development of voice and facsimile transmission systems over the Internet. In arbitration, representing the defendant, Mr. Lucia was able to secure a judgment of over $500,000 in damages. In another matter, Mr. Lucia recovered almost $200,000 for a Plaintiff in a case involving the breach of the terms in a marketing agreement. Lastly, Mr. Lucia represented the Japanese partners of an international diamond trading company for the judicial dissolution of the company due to internal disputes between the Japanese and American partners. In this matter, Mr. Lucia successfully recovered over $1,000,000 in diamond inventory for his client.
In his aviation practice, Mr. Lucia has handled and been consulted on cases arising from crashes or mishaps on commercial airlines, general aviation aircraft and military aircraft relating to pilot error, component part failures and air traffic control issues. He has also litigated cases involving accidents that occurred on airport property or on board aircraft such as slip and falls, injuries from falling baggage, injuries occasioned by the negligence of airline crew members as well as liability for injuries and accidents occurring at air shows. In addition, Mr. Lucia has been involved with cases concerning aviation insurance issues, airport development, airport expansion and noise abatement issues.
Mr. Lucia is a Trustee of Genesee Warbirds, Inc., a not for profit corporation that displays, owns and flies classic military jet aircraft.
